kaspersky has better deduction rate! but it's resource hungry ... Mcafee is useless, Norton 2010 reviews says it's lighter than the previous versions! But no handson experience!

Go for nod32! try to get it for free  Nod 1 user 1 yr protection cost you Rs.600 kaspersky 800 (3 user) norton - 900 1 user ...

1. Kaspersky slows down your system and creates too much blocking etc. especially with torrents etc.
2. Mcafee is not effective enough for a heavy user. You are most likely to get infected and not even know about it.
3. Norton Gaming edition is excellent and fast.
4. ESET Smart Security (Nod32) is the best I think.

Well...given your choices it has to be either kaspersky or norton bcos,
1.Avast pro simply has more features such as the sandbox which in actuality sucks compared to free ones such as sandboxie..but avast (free or pro) has quite a solid protection but it cannot match the paid softwares.

2.NOD32 is really not good.I have used its latest version and ended up with rootkits. The antivirus part is good but it fails miserably against spyware.Its only plus is that it is ultra lightweight which i suppose is not such a big concern as you have 2 gigs.

3.McAfee is a resource monster.Its protection is also not good compared to norton or kaspersky.

I would personally go for kaspersky as norton just offers protection that is only slightly better than avast and costs high.

Also IMO kaspersky is the only antvirus worth paying for...Go for it dude...I personally assure you wont regret it.

try symentec corporate edition its not free but ( u know how to make it free

 just saw this thread, and thinking of buying ESET smart security for 2 yrs at 2020. I understand it contains firewall and antivirus atleast. Should I go ahead and buy it?

every website(the websites mentioned above) had its own no.1 antivirus and antispywares ,firewalls and total-built-in-protection ..one cant buy it on its basis only!the real antivirus owners pay money for these websites to show their antivirus is the no.1 in the world !!!

KIS had best in suit features and good but not awesome as that 

it didnt believe all the softwares you installed in your pc unless until you save believe it otherwise it will alarm you and frustrate you !!!

coming to the updates of KIS ..damn it ..takes hours to update ..it will also frustrate you !!!

firewall starts blocking everything unless and until you exclude that thing from it ..again it will frustrate you !!!

finally what iam saying simply is it doesnt allow you to do your work !!!

now its your turn to choose (all the above mentioned things are experienced things and i uninstalled it and using avast 5 !!! avast is the trusted by many home users .sorry not many its million .it is the first free anti-virus released by avast team mate by several years ago and still good enough!!!BEFORE KIS tested iam using avast 4 )

the very best best thing about avast is its "BOOT TIME SCAN" option 

you can ask me what is use of this "BOOT TIME SCAN"?

for example a pc is infected by full of viruses and pc doesnt open due to viruses .you open pc in safe mode and install avast and start boot time scan and relax ..it will delete all the viruses one by one cleanly and will save a log report for future reference .it is simply awesome software provided by "avast team".thanks to avast team for doing their fair and generous job.

listen my advise dont go for nod32 ...you will end-up another hack !!! their engines dont work !!! i have lot of experience and tested lots of virus using nod32 3 and 4 and it failed to detect !!!

but nod32 version 2.7 is good ..i will rate 8 out of 10 ..nod32 team just didnt take care or bother about latest versions because chinese webistes are providing free usernames and passwords to the users!!!

I had installed KIS and it blocked by outlook mail id.Neither I could receive mail nor could send.Their customer support is also pathetic.Now I am using Avira and it is working smooth and can detect almost every latest viruses.

go for Microsoft Security Essentials its free daily updatable definition update file is available just you have to pass the GENUINE VALIDATION TASTE so no more expired subscription buy letter in mail id and it really working man i am using it from Nov 09.

if you scan pc with Microsoft Security Essentials(suppose today) the result of scanning reported will come day after tomorrow !!!
